Maternal and child care and support for children living with HIV
We collaborated with the Dominican Sisters of the Annunciation to strengthen the maternity services of the San Juan Macías Health Center in the district of Gakenke, Rwanda.
In response to high patient demand and the increasing number of HIV-positive mothers requiring specialized care, our support focused on the provision of essential medicines, as well as healthcare and educational assistance for mothers and newborns living with HIV.
Operating with limited resources, the health center provided vital services to a dispersed rural population. This intervention helped ensure more humane, dignified, and comprehensive care during one of the most critical moments in the lives of mothers and their children.
